Miso, honey and whisky give this drink depth and deliciousness.
The Old Fashioned is the classic cocktail — the old grandaddy of them all — that just keeps on giving.
It provides the basic inspiration for this riff on the original by Raphael Redant at Hickson House Distilling Co. in Sydney, but it's the addition of miso to the honey syrup that gives the drink depth and deliciousness.
- 40ml Aberfeldy 12
- 15ml Amaro Montenegro
- 10ml miso honey syrup
- lemon twist
- garnish with chocolate
- Add all ingredients except the garnish and lemon twist to a mixing glass with ice and stir.
- Strain over ice in a rocks glass.
- Squeeze the oils from the lemon twist over the drink and discard the peel.
- Garnish with chocolate.
