This drink is adapted from a cocktail created by Audrey Saunders at her 2005 New York bar, Pegu Club; it is a riff on the Manhattan genre, one which accentuates the sweet vermouth with the artichoke earthiness of Cynar.

Ingredients

Method

  1. Add the Canadian Club 1858 to the mixing tin. 
  2. Pour in the sweet vermouth and Cynar.
  3. Stir all ingredients with ice.
  4. Add a cherry to a chilled cocktail glass.
  5. Strain the cocktail into the glass and serve.
