Bartenders’ Weekender returns for its third year this June, and after two big years in Brisbane, this year we’re heading to South Australia to showcase the vibrant and exciting bar scene of Adelaide. The city has long been home to great restaurants and wine bars, but its indie bar scene has flourished in recent years — we reckon it represents some of the best drinking you’ll find in Australia right now.
And you can join us in Adelaide from Sunday 14 to Tuesday 16 June. We’ll have the official timetable available soon, but right now, applications for the Bartenders’ Weekender Scholarship program are open — you can apply at bartendersweekender.com.
What does the Bartenders’ Weekender Scholarship get you?
We’ve got 10 Scholarships to grant, which include return airfares to Bartenders’ Weekender, three nights accommodation at the five star Sofitel Adelaide, $500 spending money and tickets to events (including the Better Bars Summit, the Boothby Best Bars SA Awards and the Drinks 100 Australia Awards Gala).
This year, two of those Scholarships will go to bartenders in New Zealand and Singapore, as a way to increase the reach and inspiration available to the bartenders who get involved.
The Scholarship is something that we are really proud of and excited about — last year’s group of Scholarship winners even put on their own bar takeover, showcasing their skills and talents to the community. The Bartenders’ Weekender Scholarship is all about encouraging connection and inspiring the next generation of bar and hospitality leaders.
