El Primo Sanchez’s Banana Daiquiri comes with a Godfather backstory

Here’s a Daiquiri with a cinematic backstory.

“The drink is inspired by The Godfather 2 when Fredo Corleone asked Michael Corleone how to order a banana daiquiri in Havana, Cuba,” says El Primo Sanchez bartender Earl Elden Yoe of the drink, which was created by Omar Alvarez. “They got a frozen banana Daiquiri too with a red maraschino cherry on top.”

Banana Daiquiri

Ingredients:

• 45ml Bacardi Carta Blanca
• 15ml banana liqueur
• 15ml lime juice
• 70g banana mix (banana, condensed milk, ascorbic acid, salt and water)
• 6–8 ice cubes

Method:

1. Blend all ingredients until smooth.
2. Pour into a chilled glass.
3. Garnish with a red maraschino cherry.
