Speed Rack state finals start this weekend — get your tickets

Speed Rack is back! The US-based high-speed bartending competition designed to highlight women and femme-identifying people in the bar industry kicks off this Sunday june 1st with the first state final in Sydney, at Now & Then from 7pm to 11pm.

“We’re so excited to be bringing Speed Rack back to Australia after a six year hiatus,” says Rachael Bartlett, ambassador for Monkey Shoulder and Sailor Jerry. “It’s an awesome event, for a fantastic cause and a great opportunity to highlight some of the phenomenal talent in the Australian hospitality industry.”

Not only will you get to cheer on a dozen fearless bartenders going head to head in a speed bartending comp unlike any other, you’ll be raising money for Tour De Cure.

“We’ve partnered with Tour de Cure, an Australian Charity that helps funds grants for cancer research projects,” Rachael says. “Each event is ticketed, featuring charity cocktails and drams available on the night, with all proceeds going towards breast cancer research.”

And the fun doesn’t stop in Sydney, Rachael says. “Over the next two months, William Grant & Sons Australia are presenting five state rounds, showcasing the best of the best in each city.,” she says. “The two fastest from each state will be fast tracked to the national final, held in Sydney on the 19th October, where they’ll go head to head to compete for the national title, and $5,000 towards their professional development in the hospitality industry.”
